Arrive at SKG Airport
The adventure begins at SKG Airport where your guide will be waiting for you to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Please do not forget to inform us by e-mail about your flight details, at least 7 days prior to your arrival day, in order to schedule your pick up.
After all members of the group gather at the hotel, a first meeting at our office will take place. You will meet your host and guides and a tour briefing will be given to you accompanied by some traditional “meze” and welcome drinks – just a few, since some serious all mountain biking is waiting for you the next days!
Meet Mt. Olympus
Today is the day we’ll meet Mt Olympus! After breakfast and preparation, we will drive for 1 hour to Litochoro village which is the main entrance to Mt Olympus National park. Before we head to the trails we have to check our bikes and verify all of our gear is in shape. Make sure you have double checked our bike kit list for this tour before traveling. We will start our ride by pedaling up for 4 km through gravel road just before we drop in the single tracks that lead all the way down to the village, at the spot that our van will be waiting to shuttle us back to the top. We will end up, through the canyon of Enipeas (a river God and son of Ocean), at a traditional square to take a quick rest and enjoy a couple of drinks before heading back to our hotel for resting.
Ride distance: 30km to 35km
Mt. Kissavos, the Brother of Mt. Olympus
After a local rich breakfast, we will drive for about 45 minutes to Kissavos peak, the twin brother of Mt Olympus. We will pass, with our van, through the seaside village of Stomio, a well-known kite surf destination till we reach the refuge of Mt Kissavos at 1600m altitude. After a warm cup of tea, we can optionally hike with our bikes to the summit of Kissavos at 2000m altitude, or we can start downhill from the refuge. We’ll ride downhill through proper mountain bike single tracks till we end up at the beach of Stomio village!!! After some cold beers by the sea we will drive back to Litochoro village and as soon as we arrive we’ll enjoy a splendid dinner at a local restaurant.
Ride distance: 25km to 35km
Olympus Final Ride
Since we have already discovered the trails of the southern side of Enipeas Canyon, it’s time to move up to the northern. Our van will shuttle us up to the top of the trails and through some fun, technical and occasionally demanding single tracks we’ll end up to Litochoro village. Then we’ll be shuttled up for a second run that will lead us to a traditional square in the middle of Enipeas Canyon, to take a quick rest and enjoy a couple of drinks before heading back to our hotel for resting.
Ride distance: 30km to 35km
Thessaloniki Epic Ride
Today we will taste one more true Mediterranean way of riding in Thessaloniki. After our breakfast we will head back to Thessaloniki where we’ll begin our ride from 1000m altitude to sea level; downhill most of the time with only few pedaling bits. Our van will drive us to the peak of Mt Chortiatis, the “roof” of Thessaloniki. After ride, we will end up to Thessaloniki centre to visit a traditional food market, taste Greek tapas and home brewed, raki. Yamas guys! In the afternoon we will have free time for shopping or to visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture and the most known monument of Thessaloniki, the White Tower.
Ride distance: 20km to 30km
Suburban Forest Mountain Biking
Our final riding day starts with a good breakfast and right after we’ll start riding from the hotel through the coast of Thessaloniki and the city centre towards the suburban forest of the city. We’ll be riding through pine trees till we head to a World War II emplacement at the peak of the forest where we’ll make our stop to admire the city view and take a break before the downhill fun begins! After 3 hours of biking we will end up at Thessaloniki harbour where we will have lunch and some cold beers by the sea. In the afternoon we will meet at our office in order to disassemble our bikes and afterwards we will be getting to know the insights of Thessaloniki’s nightlife!
Ride distance: 25km to 35km
