A mix of our mountain biking destinations and some of the most fun and challenging trails for adventure lovers. Thessaloniki as the home of Outline, could not be missing from this mtb trip, also Velvedos with the beautiful pine trees forest and a huge variety of single tracks, as well as Meteora, a UNESCO monument, with some of the most iconic traditional stone-built villages in Greece, and last but not least Mt Olympus, as the holy grail of our tours. Thessaloniki is a splendid and well known European city break destination with lots of historical monuments, a great shopping centre and some notorious bars and restaurants. Mt Olympus, the most famous and recognisable mountain worldwide, homeland of Zeus and the other Gods of Ancient Greece and Velvedos at Pierian Mountains, a well known enduro destination for all locals and the birth place of one of the most iconic Greeks, Alexis Zorbas.

  1. Day 1 Arrive at SKG Airport

    The adventure begins at SKG Airport where your guide will be waiting for you to pick you up and transfer you at your hotel. Please do not forget to inform us by e-mail with your flight details, at least 7 days prior your arrival day, in order to schedule your pick up. After all members of the group gather at the hotel, a first meeting at our office will take place. You will meet your host and guides and a tour briefing will be given to you accompanied by some traditional “meze” and welcome drinks – just a few since some serious all mountain biking is waiting for you the next days!

  2. Day 2 Suburban Forest mountain biking

    First day starts with a good breakfast and right after we check our bikes and verify all of our gear is in shape. Make sure you have double checked our Bike kit list for this tour before traveling.

    We start biking from the hotel through the coast of Thessaloniki and the city centre towards the suburban forest of the city. Biking through pine trees we head to a World War II emplacement at the peak of the forest where we make our stop to admire the city view and take a break before the downhill fun begins! After 3 hours of biking we will end up at Thessaloniki harbour where we will have lunch and some cold beers by the sea. In the afternoon we will visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture and the most known monument of Thessaloniki, the White Tower.

  3. Day 3 Velvedos - Hunters Trails

    Today is the day that we will head to Velvedos. After breakfast we will load our Vans and after three hours drive we will arrive at Velvedos, a mountaineering area where our local guide will be waiting us. As soon as we get ready, we will start biking for 5km through forest in order to approach the “Three nation” single trail. We will downhill this trail for a couple of times (with van uplifts) and after that we will be transferred in order to downhill one of the most  fun all mountain trails in this region the “Hunters fount trail”.  We will end our first ride at the village of Palaiogratsano for tsipouro and souvlaki after a short visit at an old traditional watermill. This is a fun riding day, without much pedaling and mostly consists of downhill rides. Our overnight will take place at Katafygi village, the place where Alexis Zorbas the famous hero from  Nikos Kazantzakis novel book and Antony’s Quinn most iconic cinematic character, went school.

    Ride distance: 25km to 30km


  4. Day 4 Peak Flabouro to Velvedos adventure ride

    After a local traditional breakfast, we will start our ride pedalling through farmer roads for 11km to the ‘’Flabouro’’ peak at the altitude of 2192m. There we will make a stop to admire the view and taste local mountain tea. Our downward ride will be through the 9km international trail ‘’E4’’ to end up at the beautiful waterfalls of ‘’Skepasmenos’’ for a nice cold bath. We will end our ride at Velvedos village where we’re going to have a break for some local food. Since our break is over, we’ll hit the road once again for 2 hours to arrive at Meteora.

    Ride distance: 20km to 25km

  5. Day 5 Explore Meteora grandiose rocks

    Our day in Meteora starts at Doupiani, the west entrance of Meteora. We will ride by and visit some of the most important Monasteries till we end up to the Big Meteora which is the Monastery at the highest altitude. Our route will be an ancient trail used secretly by the monks during the Othoman occupation. Afterwards we will start downhill a single trail and we will end our ride at Doupiani again. Later on, we’ll have dinner at a traditional tavern and then start driving for 2 hours to arrive to Litochoro village. Time for some rest because the day that we’ll meet Olympus is almost there.

    Ride distance: 20km to 25km

  6. Day 6 Meet Mt Olympus

    Our day starts with a rich breakfast and we’ll be straight transferred to mountain lake Kattis at the area known as lower Olympus. Under the pine woods, we will start pedalling for the last section of the uphill for some warm up, before we start our ride through 9 km of single tracks. We will end up with our bikes at the village of Palaios Panteleimonas for traditional food and cold beers!

    Afterwards we will drive back to Litochoro village which is the main entrance to Mt Olympus National park, for the second part of today’s ride. We will start our ride pedalling 4 km before riding the 5 different sections of single trails above the village heading downwards and back with uplifts by our Van. We will end up through the canyon of Enipeas, a river God and son of Ocean, at a traditional square for some rest and drinks before heading back at our hotel for resting.

    Ride distance: 30km to 35km

  7. Day 7 Brother of Mt Olympus - Mt Kissavos

    After a local rich breakfast, we will drive about 45 minutes to Kissavos peak, the twin brother of Mt Olympus. We will drive through the seaside village of Stomio, a well-known kite surf destination, to end up at the refuge of Mt Kissavos at 1600m altitude.

    Optionally we will hike with our bikes at the summit of Kissavos at 2.000m, or we can start downhill from the refuge, after a warm cup of tea.

    Downhill through mountain bike -purpose built- single tracks, we will end up at the beach of Stomio village!!!

    Afterwards, we will drive back to Thessaloniki centre to visit a traditional food market and taste Greek tapas and some farewell, home brewed, raki. Yamas guys!

    Ride distance: 30km to 35km

  8. Day 8 Departure Day

    Sadly, this is the end of your magnificent mountain biking holiday in Greece. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to do some last-minute shopping in Thessaloniki before we transfer you to SKG Airport and say to each other, “Till our paths meet again!”

Activity Level

Skill Level: Intermediate

  • You have been mountain biking regularly for at least one year
  • You have reasonable bike handling skills, and are confident riding in a variety of terrains and conditions including: singletrack, double track, muddy, wet, dry, loose
  • You are competent at riding undulating trails with moderate climbs and descents, some of which may be slightly technical in nature, but may get off and walk some sections
  • You ride at least three to four times per month

Fitness Level: 3

  • You have a reasonable level of fitness, exercising at least twice a week for 45 minutes or more, throughout the whole year
  • You can ride for up to 5 hours per day at a moderate pace, with snack and photo stops, for 3 consecutive days
  • You are capable of tackling one or two moderate climbs per day, of up to 400m


Preparation of your Bike

Here is our Bike kit list in order to help you get prepared for your adventure. Please read and check it carefully.

The ideal bike for this mtb trip is a high quality full-suspension mountain bike with around 140mm of travel. Make sure, that your bike has been professionally and authorised serviced, including all suspensions and your equipment is in proper condition.

Accommodation – GBH

The majority of accommodation that we use on this mountain biking adventure, is mainly, family-owned lodges and small hotels. We have researched these areas extensively to select the most comfortable accommodation in the region, and have planned the itinerary accordingly.
We try to pick members of Greece Bike Hotels, an organisation that consults and develops accommodation units, as bike friendly hotels.
GBH ensures that its members-hotels have the facilities needed for bike travellers and their bikes, to provide the best quality services for them.

Food & Beverages

Here in Greece the food is almost a ritual matter. The areas we will ride at this mtb trip are famous for their quality traditional Cuisine and Vineyards.
Thessaloniki is considered to be a global gastronomy destination, during the last years.
We will arrange for you, dinners at cozy local restaurants and bars.
After all you are in Greece. You have to spend some quality time for mediterranean flavors.

Arrival & Departure Details – Transfers

This tour starts and finishes at Thessaloniki Airport, SKG.


Your Guide and/or Driver will meet you at the exit of Arrival department of SKG, holding an Outline Adventures sign.

Alternatively the second meeting point will be at the lobby of our recommended hotel next day at 8:00 am.

Do not forget to inform us by mail about the details of your flight at least 7 days before the arrival day, in order to schedule your pick up from SKG on time.

We will transfer you by private shuttle from Thessaloniki airport to the hotel, where you will meet your guides and have a Trip briefing.

SKG airport is well connected to many international destinations.

Please let us know if you require any assistance with your flights.

On your departure date we will drop you off to SKG to catch your homeward flight.

If you wish to arrive sooner or extend your trip to Greece, please contact our Travel Concierge department.


Please Note: All transportations from and to SKG Airport are scheduled to take place from 9am to 9pm at arrival and departure dates of the trip. If your flight(s) are before or after this range, an extra fee of 25€ per person will be charged.

Cancellation Policy

We hope that you will never have to cancel your trip. Although, if for any reason you have to cancel, make sure you are aware of our cancellation policy.

Travel Insurance

You are required as a condition of booking to be insured against medical and personal accident risks. In this policy you must include cover for mountain biking and we recommend that you take out a policy which covers cancellation and baggage.



Please note: We are more than happy to help you understand all of the trip aspects. Feel free to ask any kind of question you may have for this trip.

The duration and dates of this trip are specific. If you want to arrive earlier or expand your trip, feel free to mail us. Also, if you book your own group you can tailor the trip in any way you want.

We only run small groups to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible, and there will generally be between 6 to 12 people in each group. The minimum number of people we require for this trip is 4.

Typically the riders of our tours are between 25 to 55 years old. We welcome anyone 18+ years old. As long as the riders fulfill the Skill and Fitness level for this trip, age does not really matter.

Our tours are addressed to mountain bikers. Although, if you would like to bring your partner please inform us in order to help you and your partner to have a great time without losing any of our rides.

This is a typical all-mountain bike trip. We will include a range of different types of trails from flow single tracks, to fun downhills (and even to some uphill grinds to keep you honest). We’ll have daily briefings to let you know what’s coming up.

Typically Mediterranean weather. At Mt Olympus because of the high altitude, weather conditions can be a little bit unpredicted but overall we will feel the Mediterranean sun and the pleasant cool of the Aegean.

The trip price is €1.320 per person based on two sharing a room. We are more than happy to welcome single travellers. If you wish to have a room by yourself, an additional fee of €250 will be added. Please note: accommodation is limited in the areas we’ll be riding, so if you can share with another traveller (of the same sex) it would be appreciated.

We can arrange for you a good quality full-suspension bike hire for the duration of the trip. The rental cost is €90 per day, insurance included. Let us know as soon as possible in order to arrange your request. We will inform you about what bike will be available in order to proceed to reservation.
